5 x Reserve Grand Champion Buck in ADGA & AGS Shows (2005 and 2008)
Grand Champion Buck & Best of Breed over previously undefeated Champion Challenger, Alaska State Fair 2008 ADGA/AGS Buck Show, Rusty Repp
Best Buck in Show, Alaska State Fair 2008 ADGA/AGS Buck Show, Rusty Repp
And now officially MCH in AGS and CH in ADGA!
2009 ANDDA All-American Buck Over 5 Yrs.

The judges consistently commend Chesire's powerhouse build, upright stature, and amazing presence, but most think he yields in width in the pins and dairy character, especially when I presented him significantly overweight in 2008.

Chesire's kids are doing great too! Kidding-mates CC Xcella and CC Xpress have consistently made strong placings in their classes. Xcella has now taken two Grand Championships (once as a Jr. and once as a Sr.) and one Reserve Grand Championship (as a Sr.). Xpress took Best Nigerian Dwarf Udder in the Alaska State Fair 2008 ADGA Doe Show under Daniel Considine. Additionally, Fair Skies CC Yoohoo *S took Grand Champion Jr. Nigerian Dwarf Buck in the same show and Yoohoo's kidding-mate, Fair Skies CC You'reGonnaLuvMe, took first out of a class of nine and first out of a class of seven under Rusty Repp at the same event, and was recently awarded Grand Champion Jr. ND Doe at the Summer Solstice AGS Show under Keith Harrell in June 2009. Chesire's 2009 daughter out of our WhisperSweetly 2*D 2*M has already won two second places and two first places under three judges this year! It's also worth noting that Chesire's grand-daughter out of Xcella, at just a couple months old, took Grand Champion ADGA/AGS Jr. ND Doe at the same event under Gary Whitehead.

Chesire Cat - SOLD! Thank you, Heidi, for adding Chesire to your herd!

MCH CH Sandy Hollow UK Chesire Cat *S *B

If you want L-E-N-G-T-H, this is your boy! His 2008 kids were consistently commended in the show ring for their extremely long bodies. Another big plus, this boy is as gentle as they come.  Well-mannered, easy to handle, eager to please, and very gentle with his girls.  This makes him a welcome addition to our herd.   Born a quadruplet, he has grown to a full-sized, impressive, 4-year-old buck.

Here is an earlier shot of Chesire wearing his full summer coat, from SilverAurora:

MCH CH Sandy Hollow UK Chesire Cat *S *B

In his set of AGS Classification and ADGA Linear Appraisal sessions in summer 2009, Chesire earned high marks for general appearance, with excellent ratings in dairy character and body capacity. He also showed strong marks in stature, strength, dairyness, rump width, rear legs (side view), rear arch, head, shoulder assembly, legs, back, style (upstandingness, length of bone, and masculinity), front end assembly, neck, and chest & heart girth. As noted in his recent LA and Classification, Chesire needs improvement in his feet, a less steep rump angle, and stronger pasterns.

Pedigree/Genetics What a pedigree!  Chesire's dam was Piddlin Acres Charity 2*D 1*M, a full sister to Piddlin Acres Alley Oops *D, who posted AGS 2000 #10 High Milk with 982# in 305 days, #8 High Butterfat with 67# (6.8%), #8 High Protein with 45# (4.6%), AGS 1999 #4 High Milk with 1,153# in 305 days, #5 High Butterfat with 77# (6.7%), #3 High Protein with 51# (4.4%)!  Chesire's dam's high milk weight for 2004 was also 5.7#.  Fantastic!

Going back a bit farther in the pedigree, Chesire's paternal great granddam, ARMCH Goodwood Water Lilly 2*D 1*M, was 2000 AGS National Best of Breed, 2003 AGS National Best Udder in Class and she has been in the AGS top ten for milk production at least 10 times between 2000-2003.  Chesire's other paternal great granddam, Rosasharn's Baby Usa *D 1*M has also been in the AGS top ten for milk production at least 12 times between 1998-2002.  Chesire's paternal great grandsire, ARMCH Goodwood Tom Thumb +*S ++B was also AGS National Champion Buck in 1997 AND 2000!  Additionally, Chesire's paternal grandsire, ARMCH Rosasharn's Tiger L ++*S ++B, was linebred on Stonewall's Raising Arizona and his granddam, ARMCH Rosasharn's Uni 3*D 2*M was AGS All-Time Breed Leader for Highest Lifetime Milk Production, 2006 with 7,226# in 1,511 days, AGS All-Time Breed Leader for Milk Production 2004, with 1,601# in 305 days, and she posted in the AGS top ten for milk production at least 8 times between 2004-2006.  Chesire is also a half-brother to the AGS 2005 Nationals Best Udder in Show doe, Rosasharn's UK Witch Hazel 5*D!

For 2009, Chesire was bred to WhisperSweetly 2*D 2*M. Please see our kidding schedule for more information on placing a deposit.

The shot above was taken at our July 5, 2009 ADGA show (Whiteside). In his first ADGA Linear Appraisal sessions in summer 2009, Yowza earned high marks for dairy character, body capacity, strength, dairyness, rump angle, rear legs (side view), head, shoulder assembly, front legs, and back. As noted by the appraiser, Yowza needs improvement in his rear legs, feet, and rump width.

Wepeat has only been shown three times and he hasn't been handled much so he's still learning to walk properly. He has taken first, second, and third.

Wepeat's 2009 kids are BIG and growing FAST. One of his girls just hit 24 pounds at 12 weeks of age! And now that they're entering the show ring, they are making their mark! Fair Skies WP Zamarra took first in a large class of 0-3-month-old junior does in May.

Wepeat - SOLD! Thank you, Wendy, for giving Wepeat a great home and a new buddy that is just his size!

Wepeat hasn't been handled much and he still really hates walking, standing, and posing, so getting a good shot of him without another experienced handler is a challenge! Here's a shot of him from our June 2009 shows.

Wepeat, June 2009

Wepeat looks a lot like his sire, Jobi Cloud, but Wepeat stands taller, more upright, and carries himself more correctly on longer legs. We were really excited to welcome this buck into our herd, but we were disappointed with his right hock and his general appearance after he matured a bit more. After whittling down our stock to retain only our best and deciding which type of bucks we wanted to retain, we decided to let Wepeat go without papers for use as a dual-purpose homestead buck or for personal consumption. He weighed about 100# and was not suitable as a pet or companion and was priced accordingly.

In his first year of showing (2008), Xudan placed first in his classes under Marie Layman, Tessa Magguilli, Daniel Considine (5 entries each show), fourth under Rusty Repp (5 entries), and third and Heather Arts (4 entries). The judges commented that he is "a striking buck" and well-built, with a b front assembly and topline, but Layman and Magguilli (who saw him at his first show at just about a year old) commented that he could benefit from further muscle development of his rear from the hips back. They both expected he would improve with conditioning and growth.

Xudan - SOLD! Thank you, Julie, for adding Xudan to your herd!

Xudan is named for the African country, Sudan, so his name is pronounced with the "S" sound at the beginning.

Here is a shot of Xudan taken in late May 2008 during a quick training session on standing and posing. He still has some work to do but he's learning! We've also included a motion shot of him so you can see how level he moves when we're not interfering!

Xudan, May 2008 Xudan, May 2008

What luck!  Happening upon this solid-built buck while he's still young and small enough to comfortably breed my more refined does was truly kismet!  Amazing depth, breadth, bone, and heart girth, this boy commands attention!  Xudan inherited all the width of his dam, ARMCH SGCH Sandy Hills Hollow KF Sayil 3*D 2*M, a half-sister to our own MCH CH Sandy Hollow UK Chesire Cat *S *B, and that dishy face typical of his sire, Jobi LA Thunder *S (even if he refuses to show it off for the camera).  We also own a half-brother to Xudan, Xenya.

Xudan comes from very dairy lines, with both his paternal granddam, Jobi Aida 3*D 1*M (AGS 2005 #8 High Milk with 1,104# in 297 days and posting in the AGS top 10 for milk production at least 3 other times 2005), and his sire, Jobi LA Thunder *S linebred on Jobi Misti 2*D 2*M (AGS 2003 #2 High Milk with 1,247# in 305 days, and posting in AGS top ten for milk production at least 9 other times between 2002-2004).  Xudan's ancestors also include ARMCH Rosasharn's Tiger L ++*S ++B (linebred on Stonewall's Raising Arizona), Gay-Mor Berry's Jetstream ++*S, Gay-Mor's RA Kingwood ++*S (Stonewall's Raising Arizona x ARMCH Goodwood Trillium *D, AGS 1998 #7 High Butterfat), MCH Goodwood Fox 2*D, MCH Piddlin Acres Diamond Deb *D, and Piddlin Acres Charity 2*D 1*M (full sister to Piddlin Acres Alley Oops *D (AGS 2000 #10 High Milk with 982# in 305 days and posting in AGS top ten for milk production at least 5 more times between 1999-2000).  This boy is sure to produce does at least as capacious as his mother, ARMCH SGCH Sandy Hills Hollow KF Sayil 3*D 2*M, who milked 4.3# her first day on DHI test, just 26 days into milk as a first freshener.
